This limited edition is the result of a meticulous maturation process. The whiskey first matures in traditional bourbon warehouses. Once fully matured, it is transferred to a limestone whiskey cellar for an additional 5-6 years. This innovative approach to aging in limestone cellars is a first for Maker's Mark and contributes significantly to the whiskey's unique profile. These cellars provide a consistently cool environment, which plays a crucial role in developing the whiskey's deep, rich, and complex flavor.

The 2023 Cellar Aged Release is a blend of spirits aged for 11 and 12 years. Bottled at cask strength to preserve its robust and authentic character, the initial 2023 release comprised 225 casks. While the total number of bottles has not been disclosed, estimates suggest a production of approximately 40,500 to 54,000 bottles, making it a truly limited offering.
