Bourbon

Bourbon is an American whiskey made primarily from a grain mixture of at least 51% corn, which must be aged in new, charred oak barrels. It can be produced anywhere in the United States, though it is most famously associated with Kentucky. Key production rules include a maximum distillation proof of 160 proof (\(80\%\) ABV), and aging in barrels at an entry proof of no more than 125 proof (\(62.5\%\) ABV)..

Tennessee whiskey is a straight bourbon whiskey made in Tennessee that is filtered through sugar maple charcoal before aging in new, charred oak barrels . This extra step, known as the Lincoln County Process, gives the whiskey a distinct, smoother, and lighter profile compared to many other bourbons. Key requirements include a mash bill of at least 51% corn, and distillation and bottling to specific proof levels.
