This bourbon is produced by the renowned Heaven Hill Distillery, which has been synonymous with excellent American whiskeys since it was founded in 1935. Named after Reverend Elijah Craig, who was one of the first distillers to use burnt oak barrels for maturation, this small batch bourbon honors a long tradition of artisanal distillation. The distillery uses a special mash recipe with a high corn content, which provides a natural sweetness, while the multi-year maturation in new, burnt-out American oak barrels gives it its unmistakable depth and complexity.
Tasting notes: Color: Deep amber with golden reflections, clear and bright. Nose: Rich aromas of vanilla, caramel, toasted oak, brown sugar, light cinnamon spice. Taste: Full-bodied, warm, notes of honey, butter caramel, toasted oak, candied nuts, dark chocolate, spicy cinnamon.
